Our friendship began at the bar - Kirk Henry behind and Ryan Suddendorf watching him masterfully take care of every guest. Somehow 6 years came and went with Ryan opening multiple restaurant locations around the greater Seattle area. All the while, Ryan and Kirk's friendship continued to grow with conversations centered around their passion for hospitality, restaurants, drinks, their beloved Huskies, and Mexican food.
It was when they found themselves both in Puerto Vallarta, together with their families, that they immersed themselves in the extraordinary food and tequila of the region. The seed was planted to explore an entrepreneurial partnership working together to open a restaurant emulating these culinary experiences.
Ryan and Kirk recognized this niche was missing from Northeast Seattle and began to devise a plan to offer authentic Pacific Coast Mexican cuisine in a neighborhood gathering place where regulars are remembered and first timers are treated like regulars. ARRIBA Cantina is the culmination of their vision!
Happy Hour is available daily from 4pm-6pm and all day Sunday in the bar only. $5 food specials, $6 margaritas, $5 drafts, and $6 wine, and much much more!
*Drink purchase required for food deals.
Come celebrate the weekend with brunch. Mexican classics like breakfast burritos and chiliquiles. House made Chorizo, too!
Brunch deserves a start to your fun day, so we have $5 brunch drinks like Bloody Maria's, choose your flavor Mimosas, and Micheladas.
Ryan grew up in Northern California, surrounded by friends in the hospitality industry. At an early age he learned to cook from his mother and had the dream of having his own restaurant. After attending the University of Washington and majoring in finance he worked his way up in the restaurant industry in San Francisco. Returning to Seattle to pursue another love, his wife Morgan, he went on to co-found Evergreens and then fulfill his dream with Arriba Cantina. Ryan is the Chef and believes that hospitality and taking care of his employees and guests is the key to a great experience.
Kirk grew up in NE Seattle with an exposure to restaurants through his mother operating The Daily Grind in Montlake. After attending Western in Bellingham, Kirk moved back to Seattle where he has had a long career working the Front of House as a server and Bartender. He always wanted to have a restaurant where everyone is treated as a regular and experiences are memorable. Kirk heads up the bar program as ”The Captain” and believes that a great experience starts with a great cocktail.
